Shara Isador has been on the run since her mother was murdered five years ago. Alone, scared, and exhausted, she’s finally cornered in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, when two knights (but not in shining armor) swoop in to save her.
Alrik and Daire have been searching for a lost queen of their own for a while. They’d nearly lost hope when Shara sent out a beacon for them, and they followed. When they finally stumble across her, she’s surrounded by thralls and about to take her own life. And then, they find out that their queen knows nothing about their world.
Shara must learn to wield her new powers quickly and conquer her fears if she intends keep them all alive.
The story was definitely a new take on vampires, and while I felt like there was a lot of new information to digest, it was still a good read. There was a lot of steam and mxm action, so if you’re not into that, I’d steer clear. The second book is coming out December 2017, and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next.
