Magic of the Void follows the story of Sagely after a mysterious dark man tries to kill her and mysteriously a savior arrives just in the nick of time. When she wakes up she discovers new magical powers and a bond she shares with her savior-one of the most powerfuls warlocks, Quill.
She enters a world where werewolves, shapeshifters and fae people exist and where a witch can have different “husbands."
During the story we find out how Sagely had some latent void magic, different from the one witches and warlock have. A magic entrusted once upon a time to the Fae people, and that some of their kind have as well-which is passed from generation through generation, no matter how diluted the blood might be.
Of course Mr. try-to-murder-Sagely-for-her-power searches for her to retrieve what he wasn’t able to get the first time around.
I like Quill during most of the story, but at the end the way he reacted to the jealousy wasn’t my cup of tea, especially since he grew up in a society where a reverse harem is normal and accepted, it would make more sense if Fox had those jealous attacks considering he is a fae, but this is my personal opinion.
The story has an interesting start and good set up to become a great story, although at certain times it felt kind of slow. Also there were a few editing issues during the book.
I did enjoy the battle scenes and the romantic ones, though I believe there needed to be more development than rather an immediate attraction, then again I am a slow burn kinda girl, but I will love to see what happens in the next volume which is up for preorders and will come out on January 13.
